Just a short drive from el chorro you will find this pleasant climbing Area which is perfect for the lower and middle grades. Slab's mostly south faced with an easy access.
This is a copy of the Valle de Abalajis on line guide. It is a description of total 87 routes, divided in 4 different areas, all equipped by the Andalusian Climbing Federation. The areas are called El Nacimiento, El Higuerón, La Huerta y La Carretera. There are two more areas which have been equipped by the Nescania climbing group. These areas are called: Los Lavaderos y el Pico de la Bandera. The biggers areas like La Zona del Nacimiento and de la Huerta, are divided in smaller sectores iwhich makes it easyer to locate the routes. The majority of the routes are fully bolted and the belay's are in place.
There are some semi equipped routes in the Nacimiento area which need some trad gear to back up the bolts. The anchors are all fixed.
Most of the routes have there name and grade paintet on the rock. The on who need extra gear have a red dot next to the name.
The acess to the climbing areas is easy and quick, maximum 15min walking distance. There are well marked pathes and two information panels one above the gasoline station and another one is placed at the entry of the village as you come from Málaga.
